Elsinore Hotel
St Georges Crescent Promanade, Llandudno
Review of Elsinore Hotel
Overall rating:
The saying you get what you pay for is so apt here. We only stayed one night an it was absolutely fine for us, wouldn't stay a week though. The room was quite scruffy, the curtains didn't fit the windows and the light shade was hanging off, also a lot of make and scuffs on the walls but saying that it was clean and the sheets were very clean and fresh. All the staff were lovely and friendly and the breakfast was really good, all in all a good stay.

The Malago Bed and Breakfast
The Malago Bed and Breakfast, 113 West Street, Bedminster, Bristol
Review of The Malago Bed and Breakfast
Overall rating:
The Malago was lovely and clean. The staff were very friendly and eager to please. Nothing was to much trouble. The breakfast was basic, would have preferred a cooked breakfast but the choice for the continental was very vast. Very enjoyable stay and would recommend this to anyone. The hotel was a bit out of the way from the city centre but the area itself was clean and very quiet.

Only stayed one night, large but basic, clean room, breakfast fine, if you can get it cheap like we did you can't go wrong, like some one else mentioned fawlty towers does come to mind (very scruffy around the edges etc) , but as i say clean & functional room, polite/helpful staff.

White Hart Hotel by Marstons Inns
12 Bridge Street, Andover
Review of White Hart Hotel by Marstons Inns
The stay was pleasant enough apart from not being able to get hot water in the shower and the pressure was low. There was hot water available at the sink, but the hot water tap (room 15), for some reason, turned off in the middle, so if you turned the tap off normally - as far as it will go - there was still hot water running. I forgot this for than once.

A great B&B from which to explore Snowdonia, Anglesey or the North Wales coast.
10 min walk from Menai Bridge.
The room was comfortable with quality bedding, towels and dressing gowns. Fresh fruit and a full range of choices for a full english style breakfast.

Hazel Bank Country House
Rosthwaite, KESWICK
Review of Hazel Bank Country House
Overall rating:
10 out of 10 - What a gem of a place, how lucky were we. Out of all the choices available we some how stumbled upon this beautiful house, gorgeous views (our room), so named, had a view of Great Gable), this place is right on the plot to walk from the door for some of the big key walks (we did Scaffell Pike), plus there are many more gentle less testing walks. The very personal service offered at the Hazel Bank is fabulous, the owners Gary, Donna and their children can't do enough to help, they are cheerful, friendly, informative and justifiably proud of their home and local area. Gary has an extremely good wine cellar and the food which is mostly sourced locally and is cooked by Donna is exceptional, we have eaten at some of the best restaurants including Michelin starred but the food presented at Hazel Bank is right up there with the best, we had the best pastry ever (no soggy bottoms here), beautiful mains and perfectly cooked puds and breakfast was spot We were so glad we didn't waste our money going to an impersonal hotel, instead we were treated as if we were honoured guests visiting friends in a lovely country house, despite the very long drive up from Essex, we can't wait to come back for another visit.

Black Bear Hotel
14 South Street, Wareham
Review of Black Bear Hotel
Overall rating:
Stayed here for one night, was awful! Despite claiming new management the place is in dire need of a complete refurbishment. Room was disgusting, it was very damp and run down. Our room overlooked the beer garden so room stank of cigarettes from smokers outside. It was so noisy we didn't get any sleep due to loud music and an almighty fight from drinkers in the garden. We were even interrupted at 3 in the morning by drunk men stumbling into our room.
Breakfast was passable but the room was very unclean and unhygienic, with a smell of stale smoke and wet dog. Service was haphazard. After complaining we were offered a reduction but the price we paid still felt high considering the state of the place.
It needs shutting down and a big overhaul, a shame as the place has a lot of potential!
Room Tip: Avoid room 2 above the beer garden!

Review of SACO Cardiff - Cathedral Road
Overall rating:
Really outstanding. We had a 2 bed apartment at the top of the back building which was quiet and well equipped, everything seemed very fresh and newly painted and the master bedroom was seriously nice (and big). It's an easy walk or short bus ride to the city centre, we'd definitely stay here again.
