@ dr.oid,

just think that people are just not ****d to post their dissappointed at then main stage line up. Personally if I knew this line up I would never have bought an early bird ticket but here I am stuck with it and so I make the best of a weekend. Noisettes are cool but i think i will be in the Scooter all weekend for a change. 2009 was my best yr

Re: Wickerman festival discussion forum stricken by distinct lack of chat...

The line up is a disgrace. It really, is. Depresses me just looking at it. Nothing there that I'm interested in. Yeah, I'm sure there will be one or two smaller acts that I'll end up liking, but you don't pay £100 for that.

I actually feel well and trully ripped off. The Melt festival (Germany) costs the same ticket wise and has Pulp, Beady Eye, Jose Gonzales, Plan B, etc, etc, etc, etc.

As it stands my earlybird tickets are nowt more than a donation.

Re: Wickerman festival discussion forum stricken by distinct lack of chat...

I'm just hoping that they pull something out of the bag for Friday - Madness or PiL would satisfy.

As much as I love going just for the camping malarky and the chilled out atmosphere WM will need to watch that they dont price themselves too highly and not deliver a couple of decent headliners.

Very much waiting on the next headliner before really letting rip.

The only thing feeder would be in danger of packing out are exit doors. A truly abysmal headliner. At the time of writing Wickerman have the very worst festival lineup in the UK.

Re: Wickerman festival discussion forum stricken by distinct lack of chat...

let's wait till we see the full line up before we start to criticise. admittedly it's not looking too exciting at the moment , but just one or two names could change all that.

Like everyone I am awaiting further announcements and message to Wickerman - they better be worth waiting on or this is my last WM.

Happy with Echo and the Bunnymen and The Damned but come on get PIL or similar as the other headliner

Re: Wickerman festival discussion forum stricken by distinct lack of chat...

Nothing much to say.

We are waiting for a further line-up announcement before buying tickets would be our fifth year with friends and family, cash is tight and festival choice is good.

Lots of great old punk, mod, new wave bands at festivals all over; 999, Lambrettas, Adam Ant, Lurkers, Anti Nowhere League, Dead Kennedys, Angelic Upstarts, The Chords, the potential booking list endless.

Come on Wickerman get a few more names in there.

The official site needs a better visible link to here. Since they re-designed the website this forum has been dead as the only link is the wee skiddle sign at the foot of the page.

And the line up saga this year is taking the piss. Edward Woodward will be spinning in his grave at the tortoise approach taken by the organisers this year. Get it sorted.

Re: Wickerman festival discussion forum stricken by distinct lack of chat...

Worst UK festival lineup bar none. Currently looking for other options for that weekend despite having bought the tickets.

Come on Wickerman, please. Get some other acts and chase Feeder for their lives from the top of the bill.

There was far bigger acts than Feeder in the afternoon slots last year.

Re: Wickerman festival discussion forum stricken by distinct lack of chat...

Piss poor line up and a dramaticly huge change in the feel of the festie has resulted in a mass exodus of the Wickerman faithfull. Last year I struggled to sleep due to the horrific racket emitting from the dance area. The young element that it attracts had no respect for other festival goers and the campsite was a shocking mess.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind dance music but I want to choose when to listen to it. But the move from the Eden crew to the Skiddle crew has changed Wickerman beyond all recognition. Definately for the worse.

Re: Wickerman festival discussion forum stricken by distinct lack of chat...

Does that mean you would go if they ditched the main stage bands and replaced them with unsigned/new bands? A bar that runs out of draught beer and charges £3.40 for a can of tenants?

Having re read this post the main stage idea is pretty good.....

Re: Wickerman festival discussion forum stricken by distinct lack of chat...

Im not raising to the bait that the change from Eden to Skiddle has changed the ethos but I will say this.

Skiddle (who have been at the festival since 2005) have always loved and respected the festival and everyone involved with it, we always help litter pick our own area and always take on board any complaints, suggestions or indeed compliments.

You may have noticed we were in our 3rd different location last year to deal with sound issues. You may have also noticed we work from around 8am til 5am each day and have constant radio and face to face communication with the organisers, health and safety and production teams. If there is a problem then we hear about it, and if we need too, we fix it.

In 2009 we upset the quiet campsite but not the surrounding villages, we took dramatic action on the Saturday morning to please the quiet campsite and as far as I know we did exactly that. People in the dance tents complained it was too quiet, but that was a knock we had to take then.

In 2010 we moved to our third and final location, which yes, if you choose to camp in the general campsite in an area called noisy camping, we are going to run until 5am, that is what we are brought in to do. If you can hear us then you can CERTAINLY hear the Reggae tent as well. If you would like a peaceful night's sleep then please make sure you are in the quiet campsite or the general campsite.

Sound levels are monitored around the site all weekend and we adhere to them. If at any point you feel the levels are unsuitable for you whilst you visit the music festival then please contact a steward who will point you to the direction of the production office who will investigate and advise.

If you think we are attracting the wrong kind of people then that's up to you. In all the years of running the Skiddle tent, the outdoor stage and our initial couple of years of running Solus I am not aware of any recorded incidents of trouble of any kind in those areas with people generally having a GREAT time. In 2009 our ticketing system detected 3 stolen tickets trying to enter the festival which led to the arrest of two local trouble makers who had warrants out for their arrest.

If during the festival Skiddle causes you any problems then please do not hesitate to find me and I will discuss them in great detail with you.

Finally Brian - you've posted on every social network going that you are not attending the event, if you drop me an email on rich.dyer@skiddle.com then I will happily take the tickets of your hands.
