Statistics

Are there any official attendance figures? I heard someone in the press tent saying it was very close to the 10'000 limit.

Re: Statistics

We were talking to two coppers who told us there were 17,000 tickets pre- sold and another 10,000 were expected to pay at the gate, making approx 27,000 for the weekend!

Re: Statistics

27 thousand people! yer havin a larf pal! id put it maximum at maybe the 10 thousand, if that. There certainly didnt seem to be as many folks as last year, unless they were either (a)Theiving from tents as the rest of us enjoyed ourselves, or (b)crammed into the smaller stage areas to get away from the main stage. Neither of the options are true i think so the police as is there way were telling the usual porkies to make it look like they had some sort of job to do (maybe patrolling the campsite areas?)

If numbers were up im amazed the police did not do anything about an increase in security after a company walking out and some of the night staff from the remaining company also walking off site, as a specified number of security peope on site must have been part of the agreement to gain a license to hold the festival and this is one thing the police would be well aware of and monitering and could not have been met as the lack of security was glaringly obvious. Have the organisers been penalised because of the security company pulling out? because obviously reported crime at the festi must have gone up a lot because of this companys idiotic decision to leave.

Re: Statistics

Was it Braveheart Security who pulled out? To be honest they didn't do much work anyway. Although they were nice enough - we had a jam with a few of them and they had sneaky hipflasks of Jim Beam to keep us singing like Janis ;-) Aye the security was shocking - perhaps accounting for the invasion of the neds - with a very poor excuse for a fence and the 'exit' fully open and with no staff guarding whatsoever. I reckon the reason we don't have actual numbers for this year's festival is that no-one actually knows. It won't be long until this becomes a serious problem, cos word gets around fast.

Re: Statistics

Any offficial answers yet? (about anything not just the attendance figures) seems all the probs ect and questions we originaly asked are yet again going unanswered and its not as if the festi office havent been on the boards having a look around because they have. They do say on the main site that yes, they realise there were probs at the festi. SO Can you you please explain to the people who were robbed ect and had damage done to their stuff why the security buggered off and the camping areas became a free for all for theiving gits and NOTHING seems to have been done to help them........PLEASE.....or if you were, or know of anyone who was working on the team that buggered off and knows the reason why, Let us know
