My photos & some thoughts

Here are some pretty pictures of the festival:

http://superape.audiomaker.net/wicker2006.html

Hope you like them :)

What I thought this year:

Loved:

The weather on Saturday
Eek-a-Mouse
The Dub tent - awesome & a great atmosphere, well done to the lovely Axis people
More stuff on site - especially veggie food
The DLT lookalike on the beer tent sound system
Wafer thin outrageously pretty young floaty hippy chicks.
The much more low key policing & security. Well done.
The fire dancers - no poncing about this year trying to weave mystical magical tales of yore, just good old fashioned wow factor.

Hated:

The toilets. Last year they were well maintained & emptied regularly - this didn't seem to happen as much this year. Word to the organisers - Urinals. Get more. I do not want to spend any more time than necessary looking own at that stuff - some of the people using the turdises I visited clearly needed medical attention & a change of diet.

Weak pear cider was bad enough, running out on Saturday afternoon just isn't on at all!

Comedy quotes of the weekend:

Our loony neighbours arguing with a drunken gatecrasher at 6am, who wanted to borrow their bike.

"Go on, let me have a go on the bike go on, I haven't got any tampax or anything how far could I go..."

The Dub Tent DJ:

"This one going out to the guy who's fallen asleep in the bass bins..."

Loved it all :)

Some good pictures there, thanks for posting them.

I'm just off to try and work out what "the usual peasant proto-grunge" means!

We loved the drunken chap walking past in the wee hours singing "What's that coming over the hill? Is it a gangsta?" and then having the presence of mind to correct himself "...is it a monster?" Had us giggling in our sleeping bags :)

Was amazed at the amount of lost boys (and girls) who went past throughout the night. We were at the edge of one of the main routes (the tents with the lanterns in front), so saw and heard many folk who were wandering around looking for their tents. These included the Grim Northern Social (thanks for the stickers and hope you found your shoes :)) on the Friday night. And on the Saturday it was two of the 3 Daft Monkeys, who had lost the third one :)

Hope everyone who was lost managed to find their way eventually.

Sorry, one of the girls needed her shoes. The tent was what was lost - the shoes were in it :)
