2007? Name yer bands. GO ON!

Now that the 2006 line-up is done and just around the virtual corner, we want you to make some suggestions for 2007.
'What?' I hear you shout. '2006 is here and you're talking about 2007? What fresh lunacy is this?'

This time next year, you could be the lucky winner of a Skiddle goodie bag -could be tickets for something, could be cds, could be a cuddle from Rich- as all the people that get a name right will then be put into a hat with one random jammy person bagging the lot.
Nobody won the final band comp this year but I do owe Zakt an Argos pen.

Rich, Ben, and myself can't suggest any. But we might.

Re: 2007? Name yer bands. GO ON!

There are a few acts I'd love to see at WM that would go down well that are off-budget, so I'm only listing what I think are non-bread-head acts that would likely be well up for coming to the WM party and helping it along!

Dreadzone (get em back - top notch last year) - www.dreadzone.com
Dhol Foundation - www.dholfoundation.com/index.htm
Tarantism - www.tarantism.co.uk
Eat Static - www.eatstatic.co.uk
Banco de Gaia - www.banco.co.uk
Ozric Tentacles - www.ozrictentacles.co.uk (seems to be down at the minute)
Pronghorn - www.pronghorn.co.uk
Nightmares on Wax - www.nightmaresonwax.co.uk

..there are many more but these are the ones that spring to mind.

Have seen all the above live at festivals and most multiple times at festivals and even indoors! ;-) and they are all top-notch festival crowd pleasers [not to mention the fact that they all provoke dancing about and general cavorting :-) ]

Other than the above it would also be good if the cinema showed more off-the-wall stuff in the early hours for those who are too mentally or physically challenged at 2AM to go bonkers in the dance tents.

HAWKWIND FOR 2007

I had an idea for an Ivor Cutler tent, I emailed Jeff and he said to email someone on the website but I didnt get around to it, so it's too late now but maybe for next year. Might not be everyones cup of tea but I know there are a lot of fans out there and Wickerman might be the ideal place for something to remember the great man?

I would love Hayseed Dixie, So much.
Maybe Thea Gilmore (damned brother made me like her).
Also, some more local bands!

Re: 2007? Name yer bands. GO ON!

Local? Hmmmm..... we've been here......

The Galloway aint exactly famous for its local bands, yeh some are ok..... but for the Wickerman? Nah....

Wickermans a great opportunity to see quality international bands like Ozrics, Levellers, Bad Maners, SLF, Spititualised, Alabama 3, Dreadzone etc play in your back garden.

Tends to only be local band members that want local bands playing.....:sat:
