Bit worried to see the thread after last year's festie about the number of tent thefts - especially while sleeping! Are any improvements being made to security this year? Also, were any cars broken into or is the parking area quite secure? Thanks! |

The little scallies responsible were caught also. Tent thefts are, unfortunately, a matter of fact at any festival as there is little that can be done to prevent it without over the top security/police presence which then leads to a change in atmosphere The best rule is just to not bring anything valuable with you. If someone does have a peek in your tent and all they see is a smelly sleeping bag and some muddy wellies they're likely to keep walking! Never ever lock your tent, this is just asking for trouble! Carry cash on you, and when sleeping put it under your pillow or in your socks. Leave valuable cameras, phones, etc at home or lock them in your boot at night. I've been to many festivals around the UK and have to say Wickerman is one of the friendliest, safest festivals I've been to so come and enjoy yourself and just be sensible with regards valuables. |

I haven't heard of any car breakins at the fest so its a pretty safe bet that stuff will be ok |

BenSkiddle Offline Points:2992 Posts: 2756 | Re: Tent security The car park and campsite are in adjacent fields, just through a gate so if you camp near the car park end and park near the campsite end, it'll be a 30 second hop. If you park and camp the opposite ends, it might take you 20 mins. Not sure about access at night, I'm not aware of any restrictions. |
