Re: Post-wickerman thoughts.

Yeah the dance tents drove me mental this year - but I think much has to do with the fact that I wasn't up to going to them this year Cry

It was great seeing you DalkeithAlan, it's strange how a personality shows itself in a forum and as soon as I saw you I said to my wife "I bet that's DalkeithAlan". Unfortunately I couldn't take up your offer of a drink as I was in a bit of a mess and was using lots of painkillers to keep me going. It's just a shame I won't see you next year!

I was actually surprised by KT as she was a little better live than on the album but her silly banter between songs was a little beyond me? Not the type of act I would expect to see at Wickerman.

Gary Numan rocked even after he blew the crossover on the P.A. system. The reason the sound crew didn't sort it was because there was a narrow corridor of perfect sound from the stage to their desks so they were unaware of it and didn't believe me when I told them!

The best acts on the main stage had to be Gary Numan, Alabama 3 and the Cuban Brothers (in that order). Other memorable acts were Orphan Boy and AKA Special in the Scooter tent and the Kings of Macumba and Birds Vs. Planes in the Rowan tent. Oh and the Dangleberries which we heard while sat outside. Oh, and of course, Hugh Cornwell Oh heck I forgot the fantastic Dub Pistols

That's the thing about Wickerman there are so many great acts covering a very wide selection of genres. My 17 year old daughter discovered Ska music and my 12 year old son turned to me and said that until Wickerman he thought Ska was crap but seeing it live he was blown away by the fun and energy to such a degree that he is working on re-evaluating his opinion. Every child should get the Wickerman education Wink

Totally agree with you there we've only been goin since 2006 and our Son now 17 - (going on 30) has developed a really good eclectic taste some of it from seeing the live music @ WM. Has gone reggae mad this year - muttered somthing about getting 'dreads' before disapearin out 'sigh'Laughing
