Credit cards. | |
| Credit cards. Do you really think its a good idea to have anyone who bought an early bird ticket, forced to take a credit card into a festival?I can just see the boards after 08,Lost my credit card,Got mugged for my credit card,Car/caravan broken into for credit card. Its just going to encourage organized thievery.A festival is the last place i want to be taking a credit card. |

| Agreed 100%, Are secure lock ups going to be provided? But before I go to Wickerman I will report my card missing, and get a new one sent out. Therefore rendering the one I am taking useless (apart from getting into the festival) |

| We're looking at this. Because you are paying for a high value item, it is common to ask for cards to be shown to prevent fraud. It is also the easiest way to ensure that you are indeed the cardholder. We will investigate other ways of proving ID and speak to the banks. |

| Hi guys Please don't worry about this, we won't ask you to do anything which will increase the chance of theft, etc. Showing bank cards is part of our standard policy for all other events we sell for. We will adjust this policy for Wickerman tickets - there is still plenty of time before the event and we're still finalising the eTickets and the security attached to them. Ben |

| I've just spoken with the festival office. Because yes, at 9.15pm on a Monday night we read the forums, address your issues and get answers for you. How about that for customer service. We're looking into this issue for you now.Just think about it the other way round though, someone steals your card, buys a load of tickets you have no intention of going to, you find your credit card statement realise your skint, ring the bank and all the money gets put back onto your card - because we have no proof whatsoever it was you that bought the tickets in the first place. So, we will have answers - so please don't worry. |

| are credid cards stolen as much these days since you now need the pin to use them I know credit card fraud is up but you dont need the card for that but just the details and address of cardholder so unless you have your driving licence in your wallet as well they are not much use. |

| Really not happy about having to take a credit card with me. Then again wouldn't be happy if somebody else got in using my tickets. I always have my driving license on me so why not use that? Hell I always spend a fortune at the Wickerman (so many good stalls) and having the credit acrd with me, well, hello debt. ![]() |

Doron, your attitude suprises me. We've already put a statement above saying there is a high probability that cards won't have to be shown - it's just a case that our standard email that goes out with tickets states that they should. We sell tickets for hundreds of events each week, all of which do require you to show your card, yes. A festival is different and as such the policies will be different, as stated by both myself and rich above - we have to check with our aquiring banks before we can update our policies, hence why it hasnt already been done. The whole point in these policies is to protect you guys from fraud as well. For your info, there have been far more than 1 meeting, there have been many meetings discussing all areas of the festival, so please, why encourage negativity when there is no need for any? Early Bird ticket sales have flown out this year, which to me indicates that the festival has a very loyal following and everyone is looking forward to an improved festival in 2008. We could do without your negativity I will close this thread shortly as there really isn't anything else to dicuss |
