Rumours have been filtering through the nocturnal clubscape of Manchester for some weeks now that something nuclear is about to detonate on Radium Street. We are in a position to confirm those rumours, by detailing that a new club will indeed open its doors on the first weekend of September 2008. That club is Spektrum.

The team behind Sankeys know how to put on a party. And that's putting it mildly. The club was recently voted 17th best on the planet in DJ magazine, and what made that special was the fact it was voted for by DJs and music industry professionals. The esteemed Canada-based website The Fresh Page went one better by putting Sankeys firmly in the top 10, as its impact resonates across the pond and across the planet. People are therefore understandably excited by this next project, from the people who bought you Sankeys.
