Re: Wickerman - Who do you wanna see.

Wheadon, I have been toying with the idea of useing ableton to run synths through, so I can play some mad shit during a set.

But getting a gig where people would ba actually arsed to listen would be real nice LOL

Re: Wickerman - Who do you wanna see.

Ryan, have you watched the Laurent Garnier video of Man with the red face live? I think that's the sort of thing your on about?

Do you not have any gigs on the horizon?

I've just got Ableton 7.3? and it's the dogs. I was messing about the other night and had about 8 tracks going at once. I would love to get a midi controller and see what I could get up to!

Re: Wickerman - Who do you wanna see.

I have ableton and have had a quick play, it looks interesting, I am going to be useing it in a band, I am on drums, but some tracks are going to be sequenced, and I will be playing synths along with some tracks, that got me thinking, why not do it when djing?

I haven't seen that clip yet though.

I have one gig, and that is the uber comp, its not really a gig though is it, not worth turnng up for a comp witha laptop midi controller and cds, I would look a right cocky twat. :)

Re: Wickerman - Who do you wanna see.

Tim was judging a dj comp in Unit a few years ago, This lad about 19-20 turned up with a laptop and did a set with Ableton, just playing one tune after the other. It was horrible. He wasn't even moving behind the .......laptop!

Burn the negative use a seqencer and ableton I think for their drums and play live around it. Seen them last month and they were pretty good like!

Garnier uses ableton to do live sets but he's also making the music at the same time which is pretty special to watch! He's making new tracks and mixing them all in at once. Live re-edits I suppose. It's a great piece of kit when used properly.

Another thing I've seen with ableton was when Robin Curley (dj swoop) played at kuba with 2 laptops (running Ableton) and a controller and was using each laptop as a seperate deck. I've got a mix cd he did with them and it's one I like to play oftern. There's tunes and samples flying in all over the place.

Re: Wickerman - Who do you wanna see.

Garnier would be ace - think it might involve some serious saving for him tho.... what you reckon Rich?

Groove Armada would be nice as would The Prodigy tho again neither of these are a cheap option!!

A smaller name that smash it live and definately need to be booked are The Anomalies.

Smile

Re: Wickerman - Who do you wanna see.

We drove up to Scotland on Tuesday for a meeting about the fest. I can report back that it was foggy.

This year the dance village will be ALL over the other side of the wood where we were last time, so replacing the EDEN zone. Eden is now dead. Instead this year there will be a dance village consisting of 2 main big tops one which is run by us and the other is run by the breaks setup from last year (where Annie Nightingale played)

We will also be having a third tent which will be a million times better than the tent we put together in 2008 and wont be from homebase.

In addition to all this, there will be an outdoor DJ stage which will be open til about 8pm covering all aspects of fun music from the boys at funkademia and some more thrown into the mix.

We'll have some more news about lineups and that in the near future, at present if you are interested in playing then please send a cd to Skiddle Ltd, The Watermark Studios, Ribbleton Lane, Preston, PR1 5EZ

Re: Wickerman - Who do you wanna see.

Garnier would be pretty awsome! I would like to see The Unabombers? Really like the electric chair mixes.

I'd love a set this year, Really need to get a mix together.

Rich, you gonna have dj's in the VIP bar again this year?

Is the dome fixed? Would love to see that this year!

Also what's the beef with the stag?

Re: Wickerman - Who do you wanna see.

I wouldn't have to fly from Manc though would I. I could fly from Newcastle right?

The Unabombers are amazing. Get it done. And Garnier!

Re: Wickerman - Who do you wanna see.

Easyjet won't let me search for flights from Newcastle to prague even though it's one of their routes.

I can fly with air france to paris and then to prage and the same on the return leg for £142. Trying to work out how much it's cost me to get to manc?

Re: Wickerman - Who do you wanna see.

Looks like I'll just have to come from Manchester. Although this will probably make me miss sasha, though I'd rather be on the stag then sasha
