Travel to/from V Festival (Chelmsford)

Travelling to Hylands Park. Hylands Park is in the parish of Writtle approximately 2 miles outside of Chelmsford on the A414.

If you are arriving on foot, please follow the signs from Chelmsford to the V Festival site and use gate 6 or 1. Unless you are camping in Yellow campsite then please follow the signs worded Yellow from Gate 1.

HYLANDS PARK BY CAR For up to date traffic information relating to the roads surrounding Hylands Park please call 0207 195 2377 this number will be in operation for the following times during the event:

Friday 20 August 9am to 9pm - Saturday 21 August 9am to midnight - Sunday 22 August 9am to midnight - Monday 23 August 8am to 1pm

Information is also available regarding the pick up and drop off points on this number.

If you are travelling from East Anglia follow the A12 to Chelmsford. If you are travelling from the South or West take the M25 and exit at junction 28 to the A12. At Chelmsford exit from the A12 to the festival site along the A414. Once on the A414 be sure to check the signs and follow the appropriate directions. If you are travelling from the north via the M11 follow the signs from Junction 7 to Chelmsford on the A414. Once at Chelmsford you will pick up the directions for the V Festival.

Day Visitors. Follow the signs showing a P.

Yellow Campsite. Follow the signs for the Yellow Campsite.

Camping. Follow the signs depicting a tent.

Caravans, Campervans, Trailer Tents. Follow the sign depicting a caravan. At each entrance into the car parks there will be a variable message sign which will be updated to direct traffic to the quickest entrance point, please look out for these as it will save you time queuing. If you are in yellow campsite you should have received a hanging card showing you are in yellow campsite please ensure you follow the signs with the word Yellow. There are a limited number of gates into the park and traffic movement can be slow especially on Friday.

GETTING A LIFT TO HYLANDS PARK? There is a pick up and drop off point use the following information only: Please exit the A12 at junction 17 and follow the signs for V Festival. The A414 at junction 15 will be closed and no vehicle will be able to access Hylands Park from this junction. To avoid distress when you are being picked up please ensure your driver has this information.

CAR PARKING AT HYLANDS PARK Car parking is ?5 in advance plus 75p booking fee or ?10 on the gate.

You should have booked a car parking ticket at the same time as you booked your tickets, however if you have not done so and would like to please contact SEE Tickets on 0871 230 7139.

If you book in advance you will be sent a sticky pass, which should be displayed on your windscreen prior to arrival at the festival site.
Do not park in the surrounding roads as temporary traffic restrictions are in place and you will be towed away by the Police. Sleeping in vehicles in the car parks is not permitted. This is due to fire regulations and for your own safety.
