Biography

Born in 1971 in the North of England, Paul began his career as a self-taught hip-hop DJ in the late 80's. While studying at the university of Birmingham in the early 1990's he found his musical direction moving increasingly towards the more contemporary techno sound. Finding at this time that there were few outlets for such forward thinking music, he started his own club night to showcase these sounds. This is where he came to meet the like-minded individuals who would later form the infamous "House of God" techno club.

The House of God celebrated its 10th birthday in 2003. Paul is one of the original resident DJs, his highly individual, hip-hop influenced style having gained him a loyal following.

Fellow House of God residents include Sir Real (Round records/ Kracktronik) and Surgeon (Dynamic Tension / Counterbalance). To this day the same DJs still pack the most demanding dance floors in the country and have made the House of God one of the most respected underground nights in the UK.

Managing to stay ahead of the game for over 10 years in such a critical residency, not to mention a busy schedule at numerous clubs both in the UK and overseas is testament to Paul’s creative and technical skills.

In addition to his DJ activities, Paul is an established producer and co-founder of the House of God's record label, HOG records, (started in 1997). He also records under his real name, Paul Bailey, on his own critically acclaimed "1881 records” imprint.
